The Gardens
A connection with the cumulative collective vernacular wisdom of the past and a portal into a dynamic and vibrant sub culture that has numerous lessons for the needs of today.
The herbal gardens are a hub of exchanged information whenever a group of is present there.
Be it the local school children learning about the huge diversity of plants that can play a role in their lives, the Women’s group discussing the subtle differences in their use of the plants or a visiting academic who wish to compare our knowledge with that of a different region:
each time we have a visit the little garden hums with the energy of knowledge sharing.
In our garden we concentrate on the local plants that can make a difference in the everyday lives of people.
We have over 45 plants that can be used either on a daily basis as a preventative through improved diet or that can effectively deal with a minor ailment that needs no trip to the doctor to diagnose, such as sore throat, headache or minor cough.
